All vehicle rentals are governed by a comprehensive Rental Agreement that you will receive upon booking confirmation or at the time of vehicle collection. This document outlines the specific terms, conditions, insurance coverage, fees, and your obligations related to the rental. In case of any discrepancies between these Terms and the Rental Agreement, the Rental Agreement will prevail.
Eligibility Criteria
Renting a vehicle requires:
- To rent a vehicle from Car Hire Beverley, you must be at least 21 years old, though specific age limits may apply depending on the vehicle type. A valid driving licence, appropriate for the vehicle class and held for the required duration, is necessary. Additionally, you will need to present valid identification, proof of your current address, and payment details, including a security deposit. Please review the Rental Agreement for any further conditions that may apply.
Booking and Payment Process
- Reservations can be completed via our website, by phone, or directly at our Beverley office. A deposit may be necessary to confirm your booking. The full payment along with a security deposit is generally required at the time of vehicle pickup. All charges are in British Pounds (£) and include VAT where applicable. We accept major credit and debit cards, ensuring secure transactions through trusted payment platforms.
Vehicle Pickup and Drop-off
- Upon collecting your vehicle, it is important to conduct a thorough inspection and report any pre-existing damage right away. A vehicle condition report will be prepared and signed at this time. It is expected that you return the vehicle in the same condition as it was provided, with allowances made for normal wear and tear. Any new damage will be evaluated and fees will be applied as necessary. The vehicle should also be returned with the same fuel level as when you collected it; refueling charges will apply if the fuel level is lower. Late returns may result in extra fees, so please notify us as soon as possible if you anticipate a delay. You will be responsible for any parking fines, traffic violations, or charges accrued during your rental period, along with an associated administration fee.
Insurance and Liability Overview
- All rentals come with basic third-party insurance included. You can find full coverage details and excess amounts outlined in the Rental Agreement. Additional insurance options may be available to lower your financial exposure. It is advisable to assess these options thoroughly. You remain liable for damage or loss up to the insurance excess, unless further coverage is purchased. Any damage resulting from negligence, misuse, or violation of these Terms will be your responsibility, regardless of existing insurance.
Cancellation and Modifications
Cancellation and amendment policies depend on the type of booking and the notice given. For precise information, consult your booking confirmation or Rental Agreement. Be aware that late cancellations or no-shows may incur additional charges.
7. Restricted Usage
Prohibited Uses of the Vehicle
- Vehicles must not be used for illegal activities or purposes. This includes racing, off-roading, or any other dangerous driving. Transporting hazardous materials is strictly prohibited. Sub-letting the vehicle or permitting unauthorized drivers is not allowed. Driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs is forbidden. Additionally, vehicles should only carry the designated number of passengers and must not exceed weight limits. Travel outside the agreed geographical area requires prior authorization.
Breach of these terms may lead to rental termination and extra fees.
Liability Restrictions
To the fullest extent allowed by English and Welsh law, Beverley Car Hire will not be responsible for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, including loss of profits, data, or business, resulting from your use of our services. Our total liability for any claims will be limited to the amount you paid for the rental in the previous 12 months. This limitation does not apply to liability for death or personal injury resulting from negligence or fraud.

These Terms are subject to the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes will be resolved exclusively in the courts of England and Wales.
