Rental Terms
All vehicle rentals are governed by a comprehensive Rental Agreement, which you will receive upon booking confirmation or when collecting your vehicle. This agreement outlines specific terms, conditions, insurance coverage, fees, and your obligations for that rental. In cases where there is a discrepancy between these Terms and the Rental Agreement, the Rental Agreement will prevail.
Eligibility Criteria
Requirements for Vehicle Rental
- To rent a vehicle from Car Hire in Beverley, you must be a minimum of 21 years old, though age restrictions can vary depending on the vehicle type. A valid driving licence, appropriate for the vehicle category and held for the minimum duration outlined in the Rental Agreement, is required. Identification and proof of your current address must be provided, along with valid payment details and a security deposit. Additional requirements may be specified in the Rental Agreement.
Booking and Payment Details
- Reservations can be completed via our website, by telephone, or directly at our Beverley location. A deposit may be necessary to confirm your booking. The full payment and security deposit are usually required upon picking up the vehicle. All prices are listed in British Pounds (£) and include VAT, where applicable. We accept major credit and debit cards, processed securely through trusted payment providers.
Vehicle Pick-Up and Drop-Off
- At the time of vehicle collection, it is your responsibility to conduct a thorough inspection and report any pre-existing damage without delay. We will complete and sign a vehicle condition report together. When returning the vehicle, it should be in the same condition as when it was collected, barring any normal wear and tear. Any new damage will be evaluated and will incur charges as necessary. Please ensure the vehicle is returned with the same fuel level noted at collection; otherwise, refueling fees will be applied. Be aware that late returns may result in additional fees, so contact us promptly if you anticipate any delays. You will be accountable for any parking fines, traffic violations, or charges incurred during your rental, along with an administration fee.
Insurance and Liability Terms
- All rentals include basic third-party insurance. You will find comprehensive coverage details and excess amounts outlined in the Rental Agreement. Additional insurance options may be available to help lower your financial liability. We recommend a thorough review of these options. You remain liable for any damage or loss up to the insurance excess amount unless you have opted for additional coverage. Damage resulting from negligence, misuse, or violations of these Terms falls under your responsibility, regardless of any insurance provisions.
Cancellation and Modifications
Cancellation and amendment policies differ based on the type of booking and the notice period provided. For precise information, please consult your booking confirmation or Rental Agreement. Be aware that late cancellations or failure to show up may incur additional charges.
7. Restricted Activities
Prohibited Uses of Rental Vehicle
- Use of the vehicle for unlawful activities is prohibited. Engaging in racing, rallying, off-roading, or any other risky ventures is not allowed. Transporting hazardous materials is strictly forbidden. Sub-letting the vehicle or permitting unauthorized drivers is unacceptable. Driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs is prohibited. The vehicle must be used according to its intended purpose, and all passenger and weight limits must be adhered to. Operating outside the specified geographical boundaries requires prior authorization.
Breach of these terms may lead to rental termination and extra fees.
8. Liability Restrictions
To the fullest extent allowed under English and Welsh law, Beverley Car Hire will not be responsible for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, including loss of profits, data, or business resulting from your use of our services. Our maximum liability for any claim will not exceed the rental amount paid in the previous 12 months. This limitation does not apply to liability for death or personal injury resulting from negligence or fraud.
9. Applicable Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes will fall under the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts in this region.
